So this is my first time actually going in depth and predetermine what the NFL season would look like. I took into account of current suspensions, injury, new offenses, players tendencies, injury histories, players for a contract, and other factors. I don’t expect everybody to agree with what I came up with. I would love to hear what you all have to say one way or another.
Using this NFL schedule:
I took educated guesses and assumptions on which teams would win and lose which games. With that being said let’s begin!!
Cleveland has very FEW bright spots on their roster. With that being said, I
don’t expect much out of them this year,
but the future is bright… nevertheless,
Johnny Football or no Johnny Football, the Browns are the Browns.
This division race comes down to Pittsburgh and Cincinnati.
Baltimore’s signature defense doesn’t seem that dominate anymore. Losing
Halota Ngata basically disqualified them from the conversation.
Joe Flacco is in the same boat with Matt Ryan, Matthew Stafford,
and Andy Dalton when it comes to QBs that you can’t figure out. In the postseason, he’s brilliant, phenomenal, elite-esque…
but then there’s the regular season where he turns into “Where’s Waldo”.
Cincy has the same problem with Andy Dalton. In the regular season,
he is above-average and won’t really lose you a game.
When the lights shine the brightest,
you can typically find him on the back of a milk carton.
As for the Steelers, they have the offensive artillery to make a deep run.
If their younger defense becomes respectable, you’ll see them playing in February.
Indianapolis SHOULD run away with this division easily.
They are Superbowl ready. Each year, Andrew Luck has led his team
further into the playoffs and if the path continues, guess where he’ll be at.
If they solved their achilles heel of the run defense,
more times than not they’ll be Superbowl bound.
The loss of Arian Foster forfeited their chances of making a playoff run.
Their offense isn’t potent by any means. I slightly feel bad because
they arguably have the best defensive front 4 in football.
Jacksonville and Tennessee have some growing pains to go through but their futures are starting to look enjoyable.
DISCLAIMER: The Patriots would probably have 3
more wins IF number 12 wasn’t suspended. With that being said,
I still have New England winning the division (BARELY!!)
The defenses in this division are equivalent to the NFC West
(and you know what that means). I have New England coming out the gate
1-3 because life without Tom Brady.
Also, Miami, NYJ, and Buffalo ALL have gotten better.
Don’t be surprised if it comes down to the final 2 weeks.
More importantly, if New England misses a beat once
Tom Brady comes back, you might see a new
division for the first time since 2008.
Show of hands, how many of you think the Broncos are done??
(Quite a few right). Now, how many of you think the other teams
in the division are better than the Broncos?? (Not too many hands).
As long as number 18 is under center, they are ALWAYS relevant.
With the new offensive, Peyton won’t have to throw 40 to 50 times a game,
meaning, his lives to fight another day.
ALSO I can bet quite a penny that a Kansas City receiver will find
the end zone this year AND it will be multiple times.
Jeremy Maclin biggest fan is probably Jamaal Charles and should be.
Philip Rivers got paid and I feel like they are stuck in no man’s land.
They aren’t good enough to make a deep run in the playoffs,
but aren’t bad enough to get a high draft pick.
Maybe Google Maps can find a better address for them than me.
Then there’s Oakland. At least they actually have a bright future this time.
Amari Cooper will be an elite WR in the next 3 years.
This division arguably has the best QB, RB, and WR
AND none of them play for my Bears. I was optimistic about
my team competing for a wild card spot, but after hearing
the recent news about Kevin White…. (crickets)…. yeah that happened.
I’m still going to support them every down like I always do,
but I won’t get my hopes high.
This division has to play the AFC West and the NFC West
(let the odds be ever in your favor). Minnesota has a decent team
but they will fall victim to the schedule. The Lions, well, there are
equivalent to that one kid in your class who’s full of potential, but
something unfortunate happens and doesn’t become as great as they should. Green Bay will win this division again (Boooooo!!!!),
but they are the cream of the crop. The only thing stopping from
Superbowl 50 is that city that has sunlight like 40 times a year because of
The highlight of the 2015 season for Tampa Bay is… The NFL Draft.
New Orleans might be the most inconsistent team of this season.
I still can’t figure them out BUT I did figure out that they
more than likely won’t be playing in January.
I got Carolina winning the division but that might all depend how well
Atlanta plays on the road this year. They have always been a superior team at the Georgia Dome but outside of the peach state, there’s nothing peachy.
I want Cam Newton to take that next step into superstar status,
and he has the spotlight to do it this year. If their defense shows any signs of
what it was 2 years ago, things can get scary for the NFC.
Round of applause for RG3 being the best QB (pin drops).
This division will be interesting. So the lack of moves made by Dallas,
plus the rambunctious moves by Philly, plus the very few moves by NYG
has made this division compelling. If Dallas found a way to keep
DeMarco Murray with the current roster,
they would win the division without question.
Adding Sam Bradford, Tim Tebow, Murray gives you curiosity but uncertainty.
The reason I’m giving the G-Men this much credit is because
this has an “Eli type” of year written all over it. Eli Manning is entering a contract year, Victor Cruz is coming back,
they added Shane Vereen, and everybody knows ODB Jr.
This SHOULD come down to the final week or 2.
Let’s get this out the way: The 49’ers are done (this year at least).
Secondly, I expect St. Louis to be a contender for the wild card.
They actually have a starting QB that plays more than 5 games a year.
Arizona with a healthy Carson Palmer is a team you can’t ignore.
Actually, they are my dark horse in the conference (pending Palmer’s health).
And what can you say about Seattle?? Back to back Superbowl appearances,
keeps practically the same team, and just added Jimmy Graham (no big deal).
They are the clear cut favorite to return for a 3rd straight appearance.
Green – Division Winners
Yellow – Wild Card
AFC 1. PIT 2. DEN 3. IND 4. NE 5. CIN 6. SD
NFC 1. SEA 2. GB 3. CAR 4. DAL 5. ARI 6. ATL
I have CAR, DAL, IND, and NE advancing to the Divisional Round.
From there I have SEA beating DAL; GB beating CAR; PIT beating NE; IND beating DEN
Superbowl Prediction SEA vs IND
Superbowl Winner SEA
Until further notice, I feel like Seattle is the best team in football. I hope this season proves me wrong and somebody else takes the throne. That’s why “you play to win the game”.
