The Big Ticket: Kevin Garnett

Growing up, my favorite power forward was Kevin Garnett. Garnett can play on the block, shoot the mid-range consistently, occasionally shoot the 3, rebound, block shots, pass, hustle after loose balls, and ignite his teammates and the stadium with his passion. I personally liked him more than Tim Duncan, but I never denied the greatness of the Big Fundamental. I was just drawn to Garnett’s passion for the game.

Before being traded to Boston after the 2007 season, I really feel that Kevin Garnett was underappreciated in the “Twin Cities”. During his first 12 years with Minnesota, Kevin Garnett and the Timberwolves only made it out the first round one time (2004) with Latrell Sprewell and Sam Cassell, who were both past their primes. The Big Ticket’s wingman for majority of his time in Minnesota was Wally Szczerbiak. KG and Stephon Marbury could’ve been a superb dynamic duo for years to come, but Marbury’s ego and jealousy of Garnett’s stature ended the partnership before it had a chance to take off. Kevin never complained about the lack of talent that the organization put around him (and believe me, they didn’t help him at all). He brought out the best of his teammates and made the best of the situations during his first tenure with Minnesota.

Seeing KG in a Boston Celtics uniform was weird initially, but playing along side future hall of famers Paul Pierce and Ray Allen helped solidify his legacy as an all-time great. Getting over the hump and winning a championship against the Lakers, an organization that has tormented him his first 12 years, brought everything full circle.

Kevin Garnett is a 15 time NBA All-star, 9 time NBA All-Defensive first team, 4 time All-NBA first team, MVP back in 2004, NBA Champion in 2008 w/ Boston Celtics, all-time Minnesota Timberwolves leading scorer, was Illinois Mr Basketball, McDonald’s All-America game MVP, and Mr. Basketball USA in 1995, and has career averages of 17.8 ppg, 10.0 rpg, and 3.7 apg. He was been apart of the NBA for majority of his life. Garnett was able to stay relevant for 2 decades (not many have ever achieved that).

Image result for kevin garnett the big ticket

During the 1997-98 season, Kevin Garnett signed a contract extension for 6 years, 126 million, which was unprecedented at the time. This contract, was not the cause of theĀ NBA to be locked out the following season, it basically established the salary cap in the NBA. KG was a rare talent that just wanted to win and was willing to put everything on the line game in and game out. Garnett will potentially be apart of a hall of fame class in 2021 that will consist of Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan and himself. Together they have a total of 48 NBA All-star appearances, 11 NBA Championships and 4 league MVP awards.

Now that his career has come to an end, we will forever remember the moments that he left us, especially saying “ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!!!!” when they defeated in the Lakers in 2008 for the NBA title. Whenever Kevin Garnett laced them up, he was going to give you everything he had. That plus his passion is the reason they called him “The Big Ticket”.

HOT OR NOT šŸ”„ā„ļø (D.Reed)

What’s HotšŸ”„
QB
Kirk Cousins (Cleveland @ Washington)
I love Captain Kirk’s matchup at home vs Cleveland this week! Every QB that has faced Cleveland in its first 3 weeks had at least 2 TDs, and I don’t see why Cousins can’t keep that trend going!!! Cousins has been far from stellar this year, but this week against a generous Browns defense, he could very well be a top 10 QB!!!
Andy Dalton (Miami @ Cincinnati)
Like Cousins, Dalton is at home against a very exploitable defense in Miami. Dalton has been a bit shaky so far this season, but I expect this game to be a bit of a coming out party for “The Red Rifle”!! This is the first week of byes, and Dalton would be a great plug and play for the likes of Aaron Rodgers and Carson Wentz owners!!! (Green Bay and Philly both idol)
RBĀ
Carlos Hyde (Dallas @ San Francisco)
I was a bit worried about Hyde after his foot injury that kept him out of 9 games last season, but so far he’s been running with both power and explosion!!!! Hyde is fresh off of a 100 yd, 2 TD game and is looking to duplicate that performance against a Dallas defense that allows 4.8 yards per carry!! Dallas is ranked 28th in the league against the run so I expect for Hyde to have a very solid outing!!!
Jeremy Hill (Miami @ Cincinnati)
Jeremy Hill is coming off of a huge game against arguably the best defense in the league in the Denver Broncos!!! This had to be a tremendous confidence boost for Hill who has been a fantasy “no show” the first 2 weeks. If Hill can put up a 97yd, 2 TD stat line against the defending champs, he can surely put up similar numbers against the Dolphins right??
WR
Allen Robinson (Indianapolis @ Jacksonville)
Robinson owners were finally rewarded in week 3 when he finally got in the end zone twice against Baltimore!!! Coming off of a phenomenal 2015 campaign, I think we were all expecting more from Robinson right off the bat. This week he draws the Colts, and I think everyone will finally get the production that they were waiting for!! I see Robinson as a strong WR 1 this week against a banged up Colts secondary!!!
Marvin Jones (Detroit @ Chicago)
Marvin Jones channeled his inner Calvin Johnson last week to the tune of 6 catches, a whopping 205 yds, and two scores!!! Jones is the clear cut number one guy in the Lions pass attack where Stafford likes to chuck it a ton. Jones has the makings of being an elite WR 1 in many games this season!! This week he’s on the road against an error-prone Bears defense, so I expect for another solid game for Jones!!!
TE
Zach MillerĀ (Detroit @ Chicago)
Miller put up a 78 yd, 2 score day on the road against Dallas last week!!! Miller is one of those TEs who flew under the radar and went undrafted in most leagues, but this week he’s up against a Lions defense that already surrendered 5 TDs this season. He’ll definitely be worth a waiver stream!!! It’s a very good chance that Miller will find paydirt against a team that allowed more fantasy points to opposing TEs than any other team this season!!!
D/ST
Minnesota Vikings (vs New York Giants)
When you can go up against the likes of Aaron Rogers and Cam Newton and do more than hold your own, you are more than deserving of a spot on this list!!! In every game this season, the Vikes have held their opponents under 16 points a game which is amazing considering their last two games were against Green Bay and Carolina!!! The Vikings are the hottest defense in the league and should perform just fine at home against Eli and company this week!!!
What’s Notā„ļø
QB
Jameis Winston (Denver @ Tampa Bay)
Winston had one heck of a game against the Rams last week where he threw for over 400 yds and 3 scores!!! I can’t see him having that caliber of a game against one of the leagues best in the Denver Broncos. I believe the Broncos will look to make Winston as uncomfortable as possible and try to force him into as many errors as possible. I look for Denver to bring Winston back to down to Earth this week!!!
RB
Jay Ajayi / Kenyon Drake (Miami @ Cincinnati)Ā
I hate the words RUNNING BACK BY COMMITTEE!!! With the recent injury to starting RB Arian Foster, it looks to be a time share in the Miami backfield. Until Foster returns Ā it seems like the Dolphins’ backfield is a bit cloudy so I would stay away from both of these guys until there is more clarity. Miami draws a tough Bengals defense on the road so that doesn’t help out their situation one bit.
WRĀ
Golden Tate (Detroit @ Chicago)
With the emergence of Marvin Jones, Tate’s stock has dropped tremendously!!! Tate was pretty darn good last year alongside the likes of Megatron, leaving fantasy owners thinking his numbers would be the same if not a tad better in Calvin Johnson’s absence. However, that clearly isn’t the case. Last game, Tate took a backseat to Jones, Riddick and Ebron in the passing game!!! So until he proves himself to be the complimentary receiver he once was, he’s better left riding the pine!!!
TEĀ
Martellus Bennett (Buffalo @ New England)
It looks like Rob Gronkowski is working his way back to full strength and soon Bennett will become pretty fantasy irrelevant!! Once a big name, Bennett is now as inconsistent as they come!! With Gronk getting closer to 100 percent, it’ll be a safe bet to leave Bennett on the bench until further notice!!!
D/ST
Buffalo (@ New England)
Buffalo is coming off of its best defensive performance of the year forcing 4 INTS and a touchdown as they surprisingly upset the Arizona Cardinals at home. This week, Buffalo is on the road in Foxborough as the face the Patriots in a divisional showdown!! I won’t expect a repeat of week 3 from the Bills going up against Belichick and company!!! Hostile environment plus a Hall of Fame coach equals a rough night for the Buffalo D!!!

HOT OR NOT šŸ”„ā„ļø (D.Reed)

What’s HotšŸ”„
QB
Phillip Rivers (San Diego @ Indianapolis)
Normally I’m not too high on Rivers due to his lack of consistency, but this week I love his matchup against a battered and bruised Colts defense. The Colts defense is allowing an average of 18.7 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks, and I expect Rivers and his pass-happy offense to take full advantage!!!
Matt Ryan (Atlanta @ New Orleans)
Show of hands for who anyone who thought that Matt Ryan would be your number one player for points scored in the first two weeks. . .anyone?. .anyone?. .nope me either!!! This week, Ryan draws the matchup of a porous New Orleans defense!!! Use Ryan while you can because the Falcons schedule toughens up significantly in the weeks ahead. However, for now, it looks like “Matty-Ice” is in for another top 5 QB week!!!!
RB
Melvin Gordon (San Diego @ Indianapolis)
With Danny Woodhead now confirmed out for the year with a torn ACL, I expect an uptick in usage for Melvin Gordon in the SanDiego backfield. Although they signed Dexter McCluster, a player with a style similar to Woodhead, I still expect for Gordon to do well against a defense that has surrendered 5 TDs on the ground in its first two matchups! I don’t think Gordon will eclipse 100 yds rushing, but he’ll definitely get the looks near the goal line where he has been money in the bank!!!!
Matt Forte (NYG @ Kansas City)
Coming off a triple TD game against Buffalo, Forte is as hot as any RB in the league right now!! What makes Forte a top play week in and out is not only his ability to carry the ball but his ability as a pass catcher too!! It makes it even harder to sit him in PPR leagues. The Jets have made him a huge part of their offense in the first two games, and as long as Forte stays healthy, I don’t see that changing anytime soon!!! Even though Kansas City’s defense is far from a pushover, you can’t deny Forte’s usage and volume as he’s a threat to score through air or on land any given week!!!!
WR
Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona @ Buffalo)
The age-less wonder, who seems as young and fresh as ever, has already posted 3 scores this year!! He’s still Carson Palmer’s go-to guy in a very talented receiving corp! Much doesn’t seem to get past Fitzgerald as he always makes the best of his targets year in and year out!!! I see a very solid matchup for Fitz this week as he’s up against a suspect Bills secondary that was ripped to shreds against Ryan Fitzpatrick and company last week!!!
Travis Benjamin (San Diego @ Indianapolis)
Since the loss of Kenan Allen, Benjamin has become the top target in San Diego’s pass attack. Benjamin posted 6 catches for 115 yards and 2 scores against Jacksonville, and with Rivers looking Benjamin’s way early and often, I don’t see any reason why he wouldn’t post similar numbers against the Colts’ generous secondary!!! I have Travis Benjamin as a high-end WR2 with WR1 potential this week!!!
TE
Dennis Pitta (Baltimore @ Jacksonville)
Dennis Pitta flew under the radar last week with a whopping 9 catches for 102 yards!!! He lead all Ravens pass catchers in targets in week 2 with 12 and is quickly becoming Flacco’s favorite target!! Pitta gets the matchup against a Jacksonville defense that has given up some big games to TEs in the past. Given his usage as of late, I can easily see Pitta being a top plug and play option this week considering he went undrafted in most leagues!!!
D/ST
Arizona (@ Buffalo)
The firing of offensive coordinator Greg Roman gives anĀ indication on how Buffalo’s offense is doing through the first few weeks. It seems like the Bills are in a tough spot this week as they play host to an extremely talented Arizona defense! With things in disarray in Buffalo, now seems like a great time to plug in Arizona’s D/ST with confidence!!!
What’s Notā„ļø
QB
Tyrod Taylor (Arizona @ Buffalo)
(Sighs) It really hurts me to do this to such a quarterback with tremendous potential, but with the offense looking so inconsistent from week to week and a tough matchup against Arizona, it looks like Tyrod Taylor deserves a spot on this list this time around. Hopefully, you have a better option at QB because this doesn’t seem like it’ll be Taylor’s week. (Insert Jordan crying face here)
RBĀ
Devonta Freeman (Atlanta @ New Orleans)
Even though I love the matchup this week against the Saints, it seems like the Atlanta backfield has become a bit messy with the emergence of Tevin Coleman, who scored Atlanta’s only TD on the ground last week. Coleman seems to be used in the passing game while Freeman being used on early down situations. Either way, it seems like there is no clear cut number 1 guy in this backfield as long as Coleman’s solid play continues. So be mindful of any use of a running back in this cloudy backfield!!! I also love Coleman a lot more in PPR format!!
WR
Sammy Watkins (Arizona @ Buffalo)
A WR with a foot injury. . .Ā yep. . .proceed with caution!!! It seems to me that Sammy Watkins has been used more of a decoy than anything else! Personally, I would leave this super talented WR on your bench until he shows signs of being near full strength!! I know it hurts to see a big name like Watkins on the bench but sometimes it’s better to be safe than sorry. However, being matched up against Patrick Peterson and a talented Arizona secondary should make benching him a little easier!!!
TE
Gary Barnidge (Clevland @ Miami)
2015 Breakout TE Gary Barnidge just lost his QB, Josh McC own, who made said breakout year possible. Barnidge was McCown’s favorite weapon of choice when he was the signal caller for the Browns last season. Since McCowns injury is more serious than expected, I expect for “Barney” to be put on the shelf until further notice!!! We’ll have to wait and see if Kessler or whoever is at QB can rekindle that same magic that McCown and Barnidge once shared!
D/ST
Philadelphia (vs Pittsburgh)
Philly has surprisingly been a top fantasy defense throughout these first two games (although it can be a little misleading when playing Cleveland and Chicago), but coming off a short week and going up against one of the league’s top offensive units in the Pittsburgh Steelers, I expect that trend to change!!! The Steelers are built to light up the scoreboard quick, fast and in a hurry, and I see tough sledding for Fletcher Cox and company.

NFL: Week Two Predictions

Great previews of each game.

Shiree Talks Too Much!!

Week two is already upon us people. This week is really important for those teams that need to get some momentum going heading into October.

Letā€™s take a look at the match ups this week, and pick our winners and losers.

Last week: 8-7

THURSDAY Sept. 15-8:25 p.m.

New York Jets at Buffalo Bills

bills-vs-jets

This division showdown is a must-win for both teams to be quite frank. The Bills crushed any playoff hopes for Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Jets, at the end of last season. New York needs to set a standard for themselves within the AFC East, if they want to be taken seriously as contenders.

Buffalo Bills head coach, Rex Ryan, has probably been on the hot seat every season since his days as (get this) the Jets coach. He always speaks confidently about his teams, even though they never really quite live up to hisā€¦

HOT OR NOT šŸ”„ā„ļø (D.Reed)

What’s HotšŸ”„

QB
Eli Manning (New Orleans @ NYG)
Much like Derek Carr Last week, it is now Eli Manning who ends up with a tasty matchup this week. With a plethora of pass catchers at his disposal, mixed in with the Saints porous secondary, you have the makings of a wonderful fantasy day for Eli and company!!!

Matthew Stafford (Detroit vs Tennessee)
No Calvin Johnson??!! No problem!!! Many feared that Stafford would flop this year without his recently retired, future Hall of Fame WR, Megatron. But Stafford gashed the Colts secondary to the tune of 3 TDs, zero interceptions, and 340 yds passing!! Seeing how this is a home game, and Stafford is usually pretty good at home, I see this matchup being similar to his week 1 numbers.

RB
C.J. Anderson (Indianapolis @ Denver)
Anderson dazzled in his week one matchup against a brutal Carolina defense, running for 92 yds and TD and adding another score through the air on 4 catches!!! Anderson was heavily involved in the offense, that was rolling on all cylinders, and did more than hold his own in this Super Bowl rematch. Now he draws a matchup made in heaven against a poor Colts run defense!!! It looks like C.J. is shaping up to be the RB we expected him to be in his 2015 campaign!!!!

Ezekiel Elliot (Dallas @ Washington)
“Zeke” called his first career game against the New York Giants an “average” one. Elliot rushed for 51 yds and a score in week one, but I expect his matchup with Washington to be anything but average. Washington was gashed by DeAngelo Williams Monday night for 143 rushing yds and 2 scores!!!! With Washington playing off a short weekĀ and battling that great Cowboys offensive line, I see one heck of a game in the works for Elliot!!!!

WR
Kelvin Benjamin (San Francisco @ Carolina)
Last week I had Benjamin on my “Whats Not” list and. . .BOY WAS I WRONG!!!! The “big fella” had no problems giving the “No Fly Zone” fits as he caught 6 balls for 92 yds and a TD on a whopping 12 targets!!!! With his size and high target volume, I see Benjamin giving any opposing defense problems. If he could best one of the league’s top secondaries, what do you think he’ll do at home versus San Fran???

Jordan Matthews (Philadelphia @ Chicago)
I love Matthews this week for the same reason I like Kelvin Benjamin and that’s volume!!! J-Matt was targeted a ridiculous 14 times and turned that into 7 catches, 114 yds, and a score!!! He seems to be the clear first option in the passing game for rookie Carson Wentz so I can definitely see stellar performances in the near future for Matthews!! And with Philly drawing a very suspect Chicago defense this week, that stellar performance may come sooner rather than later.

TE
Travis Kelce (Kansas City @ Houston)
The 6 foot 6 TE, with great speed, seems to be a matchup problem for anyone who dares to contain him, Ā especially for Houston in particular! In the last two meetings against Houston, Kelce combined for 14 grabs, 234 yards, and two scores. I think that alone is enough reason to give Kelce the nod at your TE slot!!!

D/ST
Carolina (vs San Franciso)
San Francisco was able to move the ball quite well against the Los Angeles RamsĀ Monday night, but it’s safe to say that won’t be the case this week!! I smell trouble for the 49’ers on the road against Luke Kuechly and company as Carolina’s defense is definitely among Ā “the crĆØme de la crĆØme”!!!

What’s Notā„ļø

QB
Ryan Tannehill (Miami @ New England)
Tannehill could have ended up with a better stat line last week against a tough Seattle Seahawk defense if it wasn’t for Kenny “Butterfingers” Stills dropping a sure “would be” touchdown!!! I can see this week ending up much worse for Tannehill as he travels to Foxborough to face the Patriots where he hasn’t played particularly well. In 4 career games there, Tannehill has just 3 TDs and 7 interceptions!!!! I see a rocky road for Tannehill this week!!!

RB
Frank Gore (Indianapolis @ Denver)
Denver’s defense held Jonathan Stewart in check last week for a measly 64 yards rushing!! I think Gore is in for a similar outing against a very stout defense!!! I don’t expect too much out of Gore besides warming my bench if I own him. Play at your own risk!!!

WR
T.Y. Hilton (Indianapolis @ Denver)
Looks like Hilton has a date with both Aqib Talib and Chris Harris this week!! That should draw some caution seeing how they’re the best CB tandem in the league!! In my opinion, Hilton is no more than a flex play on the road against the suffocating secondary!!

TE
Jimmy Graham (Seattle @ Los Angeles)
What ever happened to the Jimmy Graham that once wreaked havoc on all that came in his path?? He’s been working his way back from a knee injury trying to rekindle his old ways to when he was Drew Brees’ go-to guy in New Orleans. Only being involved in 17 plays in week one, I don’t see the old Jimmy returning to true form anytime soon.

D/ST
Minnesota (@ Green Bay)
Defensively, the Vikings played impressively against Marcus Marriota and the Titans, but this week they’ve got a tough matchup against one of the leagues best in Aaron Rodgers!!! Don’t get me wrong, I like the Vikings D, but I rarely bet against Rodgers, who’s known for lighting up defenses like the end of December!!!

Cy Young and MVP Contenders

One of my good friends, Chris (follow him on Twitter @mrwsa11), and I have compiled a list of contenders for this year’s Cy Young and MVP awards in each conference.

A.L. Cy Young

Image result for zach britton stats

Zach Britton (Baltimore)

The Orioles closer has been unreal pretty much all year. He has 40 saves, 62 strikeouts, and an insane 0.65 ERA. Since May 1st, Britton has only allowed one earned run, and is the clear cut favorite for the Cy Young.

Corey Kluber (Cleveland)

The Indians ace is sporting a win-lose record of 15 and 9, helping to lead the charge for the club’s rotation. With 198 strikeouts and an ERA slightly above 3, he may benefit from the fact that voters usually don’t consider voting for closers (i.e. Britton) for the Cy Young.

Rick Porcello (Boston)

With an outstanding 20-3 record, Porcello has the best record amongst all pictures. It has been a resurgent year for him as he leads the Red Sox staff.

N.L. Cy Young

Image result for max scherzer

Max Scherzer (Washington)

The Nationals ace is top 5 in wins, strikeouts, WHIP, and ERA. He is also tied for the most wins in all of baseball. It’s hard to argue against him.

“The 3 Cubbies” (Chicago)

Jon Lester, Kyle Hendricks, and Jake Arrieta are all candidates for the Cy Young. Lester is top 10 in ERA, WHIP, and strikeouts. Arrieta is tied for wins in the N.L with Scherzer and Lester (16). The surprise, Kyle Hendricks, leads all of baseball in ERA. His pitching isn’t as dominate as the others, but he still makes it difficult for opposing batters.

A.L. MVP

Image result for jose altuve

Jose Altuve (Houston)

The Astros captain and leader, is batting .339 on the year. He leads the MLB with 190 hits, and is boasting a career best with 22 home runs and 92 RBIs. He’s your complete player.

Josh Donaldson (Toronto)

The Blue Jays star continues to be a solid all-around player in the MLB. Doesn’t matter from his bat to his glove, he has the opportunity to win his second consecutive MVP.

Mike Trout (Anaheim)

The game’s best player continues to put on a show. With his amazing defense and great hitting, Trout has proved that he will continue to dominate the majors, night in and night out.

Mookie Beets (Boston)

Beets is hitting .315 on the year with career best in home runs and RBI’s. If Beets can lead the Red Sox to a division crown, he has a legitimate chance of  walking away with his first individual award.

N.L. MVP

Image result for kris bryant

Kris Bryant (Chicago)

In only his second year in the league, Bryant has become one of the top hitters, fielders, and base runners in all of baseball. With his versatility in these categories, he has become a clear favorite for taking home the N.L. MVP.

Daniel Murphy (Washington)

Murphy leads the N.L. in batting average, slugging percentage and OPS. This makes him a viable candidate.

Nolan Arenado (Colorado)

He leads the N.L. in home runs and RBI’s for the second straight year. You can’t argue against those accolades.

Anthony Rizzo (Chicago)

Rizzo is on track to hit 30 homers and over 100 RBI’s for his second consecutive year. With him being the leader for the best team in baseball, he will continue to be a contender.

NFL: Week One Predictions

This is VERY good!!

Shiree Talks Too Much!!

No. It definitely isnā€™t December 25 yet (although it will be here before we know it), but it most certainly is the most wonderful time of the year: FOOTBALL IS BACK!!

Yes, ladies and gents, week one is finally here and I know of several (hundred) people, including myself, that couldnā€™t be more ecstatic.

It has been an eventful few months for me, what with announcing high school football and pursuing my degree all at the same time, but I will not pass up an opportunity to make my predictions. This week, and every week until a champion is crowned, Iā€™ll be here doing just that.

Here we go:

THURSDAY SEPT. 8-8:30 P.M. Carolina Panthers at Denver Broncos

broncos-panthers

As a member of Panther nation, I have to admit that losing Super Bowl 50 was pretty tough to swallow. Yes, the season overall was a Ā success, but losing the one gameā€¦

HOT OR NOT šŸ”„ā„ļø (D.Reed)

What’s Hot

QB

Derek Carr & Drew Brees (Oakland @ New Orleans)
I expect this one to be a shoot out!!! Both offenses are equipped to throw the ball a ton while in rebuilding mode. So I expect to see fireworks in this one!

Andrew Luck (Detroit @ Indianapolis)
Luck is healthy and ready to roll against a defense that is no stranger to allowing a LOT of yards thrown in the air! With the emergence of Donte Moncrief, alongside established T.Y. Hilton and a healthy Dwayne Allen, I expect Luck to throw it early and often!!!!

RB

Spencer Ware (San Diego @ Kansas City)
Last season, in relief of injured Jamaal Charles, Ware averaged 5.6 yards per carry and 6 TDs!! While Charles is nursing an injury and Charcandrick West is fresh off an injury, I expect Ware to be the main man in the backfield against a soft Chargers run D!!! I’m starting Ware with confidence!!!

Doug Martin (Tampa Bay @ Atlanta)
In five career games against Atlanta, Martin has averaged 81 rushing yards and 21.6 carries also adding four TDs!!! Martin is hot of a huge campaign in 2015 and I don’t see Atlanta derailing that productivity!!!

WR

Amari Cooper (Oakland @ New Orleans)
The Saints Defense allowed the fourth most fantasy points to WRs last year so I look for both Cooper and Crabtree to find “pay dirt” in what is sure to be an old fashioned shootout!!!

Brandon Marshall (Cincinatti @ NYJ)
What can I say. .ummm. . he’s a 6 foot 4 wideout with a huge wingspan, and Ryan Fitzpatrick loves to throw to him. . .A LOT!!! Fitzy is back, and I see no problem with him finding his top target even against a pretty good Bengals defense.

TE

Jordan Reed (Pittsburgh @ Washington)

Reed is coming off of a stellar year, and I think he will continue his hot streak in 2016. He’s a core piece of a newly pass happy offense with Kirk Cousins, chucking it to his plethora of pass catchers!!! I think Reed will be a matchup problem for a talented but young Steelers D!!

D/ST

Seattle Seahawks (vs Miami)
The “LOB” (Legion of Boom) is one of a the leagues premier defenses against a team that struggled to move the ball quite often in 2015. . .nuff said. If that won’t rattle you, the 12th man will!!!

What’s Not

QB

Cam Newton and Trevor Siemian
Not starting the MVP of the league last year?? Are you kidding me??!! Not quite. If you have him start him, just don’t expect much from either Siemian or Super Cam!! I see a low scoring game with both QBs turning it over!! The Broncos D is still as stout as can be (ask Von Miller), and even with the loss of Norman, Carolina D is no slouch either!

RB

Arian Foster and Jay Ajayi (Miami @ Seattle)
Arian Foster was named the starting back in Miami, but there will still be some type of time share in the backfield. Both backs combined still won’t be enough against a hard-nosed Seattle defense!

WR

Kelvin Benjamin
Many WRs have tried their best to expose Denver’s “No Fly Zone”, and more times than none, they’ve failed!!! As talented a receiver as Benjamin is, he’s no exception to the rule!!!

TE

Antonio Gates (San Diego @ Kansas City)
In two games last year, Kansas City’s defense held Gates to 7 catches and 82 yards no touchdowns! Without LaDarius Green breathing down his back, I still expect him to have an “okay” year, but not stellar because Gates has been battling both injuries and Father Time!!!!

D/ST

Miami D (@ Seattle)
Ohhhhh don’t do it!!! Please don’t do it!! (In my best Drake impersonation)
